The UH national conversation intensifies

With all of the hype surrounding UH football this year, Sports Illustrated made the no-brainer choice putting Greg Ward Jr. on the cover.
This Wednesday, Sports Illustrated will put out their four regional covers for the "College Football Preview" issue. Dawing one of the covers will be University of Houston quarteback Greg Ward Jr. with the headline for his cover reading "Run It Back. Greg Ward Jr. Wants You To Know: Houston's Leap Last Year Was the Real Deal." The last time a UH football player was the cover athlete of Sports Illustrated was quarterback David Klinger for the 1991 College Football Preview.
The issue featuring Ward will be available to subscribers & stores in Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas and Missouri. Ward joins Michigan defensive back Jabrill Peppers, Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson and UCLA quarterback Josh Rosen, who are the other cover students this year.
Ward threw for 2,828 yards and 17 touchdowns last season and also ran for 1,108 yards and 21 scores as UH went 13-1 and defeated Florida State in the Peach Bowl.
The Cougars are ranked No. 8 in the Amway coaches poll released last week.
