Our Favorite Houston Sunday Funday Spots
Posted on 06 November 2016
Looking for a low-key place to spend your Sunday Fun Day? We’ve got three of our favorite go to places for that afternoon drink (or five):
The first place we recommend is Low Brow, a low-key neighborhood bar perfect for those days you want to spend outside sipping on $3 mimosas. They have a delicious brunch menu Sat & Sun from 9am – 3pm. Walk outside and they have a big outdoor patio where they have music playing, trees for shade, and block Jenga to play with friends. The ambiance at this place is key; it’ll become your go-to spot for that ideal Sunday Fun Day.
The second place you guys should spend your Sunday at is 8th Wonder Brewery. Every day at this Houston themed place is supreme, but Sunday’s especially. You can get three of their beers for only $10 ($15 if you buy a glass). They’ve got TV’s inside to watch the game and plenty of entertainment outside for some quality drinking time. Challenge your friends to a game of corn hole or disc golf and the losers have to buy the winners beer. When the hours go by and your stomach less full, they have plenty of food trucks to hit that buzzed appetite. And if you are wanting a change of scenery, there are tons of other places to hit up in the area: Little Woodrow’s, Discovery Green, Toyota Center if there is a Rocket’s game, and Neil’s Bahr. Beer, games, and The Astros…what more could you want?
The last place you guys should check out is Cottonwood, an easygoing, industrial-chic venue with upscale pub fare and a giant patio. It’s pup friendly, so now not only do you get to drink in a dope place, you get to do it with your doges too. They have your drinking essentials down: cheap prices, corn hole, and live music. Stop by this place for brunch on Sunday 11-3, and let us know what you think!!
Just for reference, we would highly recommend Taverna and Cyclone Anaya’s for the best mimosa deals in Houston. Go to Taverna Saturdays and Sundays for $2 mimosas. Even better though, Cyclone Anaya’s offers a deal until 3pm where you pay $11 for your first mimosa and every one after that is only a penny. Alcohol for a penny is a recipe for a great Sunday.
